4/13/2017 - Construction Site Burglary

On April 10th, 2017 Sioux Falls Police responded to the area of N. Career Avenue and W. 34th Street N. for a burglary.  At the scene, officers discovered that an unknown suspect(s) had forced entry into a trailer at a construction site.  Once inside the trailer, the suspect(s) stole numerous construction tools.  The approximate value of loss is $6000.  SFPD CC# 2017-26107.

4/6/2017 - Burglary

On April 4th, 2017 Sioux Falls Police responded to the area of West 37th Street and South Kiwanis Avenue for a burglary.  An unknown suspect(s) made entry into a residential garage.  Once inside the garage, the suspect(s) stole a set of golf clubs and an electronic range finder.  The approximate value of loss is $3500.  SFPD CC# 2017-24484.

3/30/2017 - Vandalism

On March 26th, 2017 Sioux Falls Police responded to West Rice Street and North Prairie Avenue for a vandalism call.  The property manager found the water lines to the wash machines had been cut.  After cutting the water lines, the suspect(s) ran the wash machines causing a significant amount of damage.  The water caused damage to the structure and to the electrical system of the building.  The estimated damage done by the water is approximately $25,000.  SFPD CC# 2017-21805.

3/23/2017 - Vandalisms

On March 18th, 2017 Sioux Falls Police responded to eight separate reports of tires being slashed in the southwest area of Sioux Falls.  From the investigation, it appears unknown suspect(s) selected random parked vehicles to vandalize starting the late evening hours of March 17th and into the early morning hours of March 18th.   Suspect(s) used a sharp instrument to puncture multiple tires which resulted in over $2,000 in damage.  SFPD CC# 2017-19520.

3/16/2017 - Commerical Burglary

On March 12, 2017 Sioux Falls Police responded to a business in the area of West 26th Street and South Marion Road for a burglary.  At the scene, officers discovered that an unknown suspect had forced entry into the business by breaking a window.  Once inside the business, the suspect broke into several video lottery machines.  The total loss is estimated to be over $4,000.  Photos of the suspect and an involved vehicle are attached.  SFPD CC# 2017-18095.

3/9/2017 - Commercial Burglary

On February 13th, 2017 Sioux Falls Police responded to a business in the area of 16th Street and Marion Road for a burglary.  At the scene, officers discovered that an unknown suspect had forced entry into the business at 5:40 AM.  Once inside the business, the suspect broke into several video lottery machines.  Security video footage shows the suspect was wearing a dark colored trench coat over top of a light colored hoodie.  The total loss is estimated to be over $6,000.  SFPD CC# 2017-10894.

3/2/2017 - Job Site Theft

On February 27st, 2017 Sioux Falls Police responded to a job site theft in the area of West 85th Street and South Meredith Avenue.  The business owner returned to the job site and noticed the construction trailer which contained his tools had been broken into.  The loss of the stolen tools is approximately $7,000.  SFPD CC# 2017-14710.

2/21/2017 - Job Site Theft

On February 21st, 2017 Sioux Falls Police responded to a job site theft in the area of East Shadow Creek Lane and South Tomar Road.  The employees returned to the job site after the weekend and noticed the construction trailer which contained all of their tools had been stolen.  The combined loss of the stolen construction trailer and the tools inside is estimated to be over $16,000.  SFPD CC# 2017-13218.

2/16/2017 - Arson

On February 5th, 2017 Sioux Falls Police responded to two separate reports of vehicle fires.  The first incident occurred in the area of 61st Street and Bakker Park Drive where a 2002 Chevy pick-up was intentionally set on fire.  The second incident occurred in the area of 53rd Street and Bluestem Street where a 1999 Honda Accord was intentionally set on fire.  The combined loss for the vehicle damage is estimated to be over $10,000.  SFPD CC# 2017-08865.

2/9/2017 - Theft

On February 5th, 2017 Sioux Falls Police responded to a business in the area of 12th Street and Kiwanis Avenue for a theft.  An unknown suspect entered the business and selected a rifle from a display area.  The suspect was able to conceal the rifle under his clothing and left the business. The suspect was described as a white male, 40-50 years of age, 6’0, 200 lbs, with short balding gray hair, wearing a black jacket, fluorescent yellow vest under jacket, blue pants, and gray tennis shoes.  A photograph of the suspect was obtained from surveillance video and is attached to this document.  Total value of loss is $860.  . SFPD CC# 2017-08924.
