On January 11, 2013 CrimeStoppers of the Sioux Empire held its annual meeting to elect new officers and to thank the board members for their service.

CrimeStoppers would also like to thank our Law Enforcement Partners for their continued support of the program. Several law enforcement guest were in attendance including:

Brendan Johnson - US Attorney for South Dakota

Aaron McGowan - Minnehaha County States Attorney

Doug Barthel - Sioux Falls Police Chief

Mike Milstead - Minnehaha County Sheriff

The Annual Document Shred Event held on April 21st was a huge success!  Hundreds of people showed up, at 57th and Louise and the 10th and Sycamore locations, to have their personal documents and records shredded.

 It was estimated that 40,000 lbs of paper was collected during the event and over $6000.00 was raised to funded our local CrimeStoppers Organization.

CrimeStoppers would like to thank all the people that were involved in the planning and participation of this event to include:

Dakota Data Shred and Shred-It for providing their personal and trucks to shred and dispose of the paper.

Shopko for the use of their lot at 10th and Sycamore Ave.

Minnwest Bank for the use of their lot at 57th and Louise.

The Better Business Bureau for assisting CrimeStoppers in the shred event.

We would also like to thank everyone that showed up to have their documents shredded.  Without you the event would not have been a huge success!
