Burglary 17-84995 (2017/10/19)
On October 14, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to a commercial business near the intersection of East 54th Street North and North Cliff Avenue for a burglary. The suspects gained entry to the parking lot of the business by cutting a hole in the fence. Once inside the fenced-in area the suspects stole several parts off the diesel trucks parked in the lot. The value of the parts stolen and the damage to the fence are approximately $4,000. A picture of the suspect’s vehicle is attached.

Burglary 17-82946 (2017/10/12)
On October 7, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to a residence near the intersection of East 26th Street and South Sycamore Avenue for a burglary. The victim discovered that an unknown suspect(s) broke into his garage. Once inside the suspect(s) stole the victim’s rare motorcycle. The motorcycle is a 1975 Honda CR125 El Sinore edition. Grand Theft 17-81663 (2017/10/05)
On October 3, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to a commercial business near the intersection of East Rice Street and North Cliff Avenue for a theft. The owner reported that an unknown suspect(s) entered several different company trucks and stole sixteen batteries from them. The trucks were parked in the parking lot of the commercial business at the time of the theft. The value of the stolen batteries is approximately $2500. SFPD CC #2017-81663.
Commercial Burglary 17-78752 (2017/09/28)
On September 23, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to a commercial business near the intersection of East 10th Street and South Cleveland Avenue for a burglary. The suspects were able to gain entry to the business through a rear door. Once inside the business, the suspects went into the office and loaded a safe onto a dolly cart. The suspects then exited the building with the safe. The safe contained an unknown amount of money. SFPD CC #2017-78752.
Robbery 17-73990 (2017/09/21)
On September 8, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to a commercial business near the intersection of West 12th Street and South Marion Road for a robbery. The suspect forced his way into the business after the employee opened the door for a different customer. Once inside the business, the suspect started pointing a black handgun at the employee and the customer. The suspect demanded money from the employee. The suspect obtained an unknown amount of money and then forced the customer and the employee into a backroom. The suspect then fled from the business.

Hit and Run (2017/09/14)
On September 9, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to the intersection of East 14th Street and South 3rd Avenue for an injury hit and run involving a pedestrian. The investigation showed a pedestrian was walking across 14th Street when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound. A witness described the suspect vehicle as a red passenger car. The victim was transported to a local hospital for life threatening injuries. SFPD CC #2017-74594.
On September 6, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to a business in the area of East 11th Street and South Phillips Avenue for a burglary. Several unknown suspects made entry into the business through a rear door. After making entry the suspects were able to get into the office area. The suspects stole 3 laptop computers, numerous bottles of alcohol, and cash. The suspects also attempted to gain access to the businesses bank accounts with the stolen laptop computers. The estimated amount of the stolen items is approximately $5,000. SFPD CC #2017-73426.
Residential Burglary (2017/08/31)
On August 28, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to the area of West 33rd Street and South Center Avenue for a residential burglary. The victim was lying in bed when he was woken up by his front door being kicked. The victim was in the process of getting out of bed when two suspects entered his bedroom. The suspects were both described as African American males, 6’0 and 150 pounds. They both were wearing dark clothing and ski masks. The two suspects pointed handguns at the victim and demanded money. The suspects took the victim’s wallet and fled from the residence. The estimated damage done to the victim’s property and items stolen is approximately $3,000. SFPD CC #2017-70459.
On August 21, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to the area of East Maple Street and North 4th Avenue for a burglary. The owner of the business reported that an unknown suspect made entry into his business through a window. Once inside the business, the suspect discharged a fire extinguisher and attempted to pry open a vending machine. The damage done at the business is in excess of $5,000. SFPD CC #2017-68339.
On August 12, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to the area of West 66th Street and South John Avenue for a vehicle fire. A citizen observed smoke coming from a vehicle parked on the street. When officers arrived the vehicle was fully engulfed. The investigation showed the owner of the vehicle left it parked on the street and went out of town with a relative. A neighbor’s surveillance video shows a light colored SUV driving in the area around the same time the vehicle started on fire. The damage done to the vehicle is in excess of $7,000. On August 10, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to National Pawn Company at 1503 East 10th Street for a burglary. A witness saw four unknown males run up to the west door and break the glass. The males were described as 20 to 30 years old and wearing gray sweatshirts. After breaking the glass door, the males entered the store and broke several of the glass display cases. The males stole two Flint Lock revolvers and fled from the store. The damage done to the store and the value of the items stolen is approximately $1,200. SFPD CC #2017-65043.
Stolen Vehicle (2017/08/03)
On August 2, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to a storage facility in the area of West 12th Street and South Marion Road for a stolen all-terrain vehicle. The owner of the vehicle has outfitted it with a special seat so disabled veterans can use it for hunting. The vehicle was left in a fenced in parking pad near the storage unit. When the owner went back to retrieve the vehicle it had been stolen. The vehicle is a 2003 Kawasaki KVF650 camouflage in color. The all-terrain vehicle is valued at approximately $6,000. Residential Burglary (2017/07/27)
On July 22, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to a residence in the area of West Benson Road and North Career Avenue for a residential burglary. The homeowner was working in his garage and left the garage door open. The homeowner fell asleep for a short time and when he awoke he noticed he was missing several firearms that he stored in the garage. The suspect stole 5 firearms which included 3 rifles, 1 shotgun, and 1 handgun. The value of the stolen firearms is approximately $5,000. SFPD CC #2017-58947.
Residential Burglary (2017/07/20)
On July 7, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to a residence in the area of West 69th Street and South Western Avenue for a residential burglary. The victim returned from vacation and noticed her home had been burglarized. The unknown suspect(s) stole numerous pieces of jewelry, sports memorabilia, designer handbags, and cash. The estimated value of loss is in excess of $40,000. SFPD CC #2017-56213.
Stolen Vehicles (2017/07/13)
On July 7, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to a residence in the area of East 70th Street and South Tomar Road for several stolen vehicles. The victim parked his vehicle and an ATV at his residence. These vehicles were stolen and later recovered prior to the victim knowing they had been taken. Officers had located the victim’s vehicle in Tuthill Park and it had been significantly damaged in excess of $20,000. Unknown suspects had driven the vehicle into several trees. A neighbor of the victim provided surveillance video of the suspects. The video shows a 1980’s two toned conversion van in the victim’s neighborhood. Three teenage suspects exit the conversion van and steal the victim’s vehicle and ATV. The ATV was later located in Terrace Park with significant damage. SFPD CC #2017-53955.
On July 5, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to Freedom Valu Center at 1601 South Minnesota Avenue for a robbery. The employee said the suspect came into the store and walked up to the counter. The suspect showed him a black handgun and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect took the money from the employee and fled to the West from the store. The suspect was described as a Native American male, 5’10” and 180 pounds. He was wearing a black sweatshirt with grey sleeves, dark colored jeans, a red bandana covering his face, and white tennis shoes. Attached is a picture of the suspect. SFPD CC #2017-53567.
Injury Hit & Run (2017/06/29)
On June 24, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to an injury hit & run accident at the intersection of East 9th Street and South Cliff Avenue. When they arrived on scene officers located two pedestrian victims in the middle of Cliff Avenue. Witnesses on scene said the suspect vehicle was traveling Southbound on Cliff Avenue when it stuck both pedestrian victims. After striking them, the vehicle kept driving and went Westbound from the intersection of East 10th Street and South Cliff Avenue. Both pedestrian victims were transported to a local hospital for life threatening injuries. The investigation has given two potential vehicles that are a match to the suspect vehicle. A blue/purple 2005-2008 Chevrolet Cobalt or 2007-2008 Pontiac G5 2 door with a spoiler on the trunk lid. The vehicle will have grill/valance parts missing, possible broken headlights, and a possible broken windshield. This vehicle will not have fog lights. Grand Theft (2017/06/22)
On June 18, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to a commercial business in the area of West 50th Street and South Western Avenue for a theft. An employee of the business came to work and noticed an unknown suspect(s) had broken into their work vehicles. The suspect(s) stole numerous construction tools from the vehicles. The total loss is estimated at over $20,000. A photo of the possible suspect is attached. SFPD CC #2017-46563.
On June 12, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to Hayward Park at 400 North Valley View Road for a vandalism. A City of Sioux Falls Parks Department employee had found damage on the newly constructed picnic shelter. An unknown suspect had intentionally torn off the picnic shelter shingles down to the plywood base.

On June 3rd, 2017, Sioux Falls Police responded to kRav’N Bar & Grill at 3512 West 74th Street for a burglar alarm. Officers located a large landscaping brick that had been thrown through the glass entrance door by the suspect. After gaining access to the business, the suspect broke into several video lottery machines. The suspect is described as a white male wearing blue jeans, a black jacket, a backpack, with a black bandana covering his face. The value of loss is approximately $7,000.
