On February 10, 2025, Sioux Falls Police responded to a storage facility near East 3rd Street and North Weber Avenue for a burglary.  The investigation found that an unknown subject had forced open the door to gain access to the unit.  Once inside, the suspect stole numerous tools, a motorcycle frame, and motorcycle parts.  The value of the stolen items is approximately $6,000.

On January 14, 2025, Sioux Falls Police responded to a job site near East 60th Street North and North Sycamore Avenue for a burglary.  The investigation found that unknown suspects entered the job site at night.  The suspects stole several spools of copper wire and numerous construction tools.  The value of the stolen items is approximately $10,000.

On January 8, 2025, Sioux Falls Police responded to a business near West 49th Street and South Western Avenue for a burglary.  The investigation found that two unknown suspects forced their way into a closed business.  The suspects stole an undetermined amount of money and several tools.  The suspects then fled from the store in an unknown direction of travel.  2025-00595.


Robbery 25-00067
January 02, 2025

On January 2, 2025, Sioux Falls Police responded to a business near West 12th Street and South Marion Road for a robbery.  The investigation found that two unknown suspects entered the business and attempted to steal several items.  The employee working confronted the suspects about stealing and they attacked him.  During the attack, the employee was stabbed in the stomach.  The suspects then fled from the store in an unknown direction of travel.

Package Thefts
December 12, 2024

Over the course of the last week, the Sioux Falls Police Department has responded to multiple reports of package thefts.  The packages were delivered to the victim’s homes and then left on the front porch. The Sioux Falls Police Department is asking people to follow these tips to protect you from being a victim.  1.  Ask a neighbor to pick up your packages for you if you know you’re not going to be home.  2.  Have items delivered to your work.  3. If a retailer allows it, select a specific time for delivery when you will be home.
