October 10, 2019

On October 7, 2019, Sioux Falls Police responded to a vandalism near the intersection of West 9th Street and South Dakota Avenue.  The investigation found that two suspects hit multiple parking meters with a sledge hammer.  The suspects then stole the money from the parking meters.  The damage done to the parking meters and the stolen money is approximately $4,000.  A picture of the vehicle driven by the suspects is attached.  SFPD CC#2019-20175.

On September 15, 2019, Sioux Falls Police responded to a burglary near the intersection of East 10th Street and South Cleveland Avenue.  The investigation found that an unknown suspect entered the business by forcing open a door.  Once inside the business the suspect stole numerous items.  The damage done to the building and the loss of the stolen items is approximately $3,000.  SFPD CC#2019-18468.



9-26-19 Vehicle Vandalism
September 26, 2019

On September 14, 2019, Deputies with the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle vandalism near Interstate 90 and 461st Street.  The investigation found that the victim was driving eastbound on Interstate 90 when he saw 3 subjects standing on the overpass of 461st Street.  As the victim drove under the overpass the subjects threw an object and it stuck the victim’s windshield. On September 17, 2019, Sioux Falls Police responded to a burglary near the intersection of East 18th Street and South Minnesota Avenue.  The investigation found that an unknown suspect entered the business by forcing open a door.  While inside the suspect stole an undetermined amount of money from the cash register.

On September 9, 2019, Sioux Falls Police responded to a burglary near the intersection of East 11th Street and South 1st Avenue.  The investigation found that an unknown suspect entered the business through a window. While inside the suspect rummaged through the offices and several desks.  The suspect is described as a Native American male, 20-30 years old, wearing a light colored t-shirt, gray sweatpants, black tennis shoes, a Chicago Bulls baseball hat, and a red bandana covering his face.

Armed Robbery 19-17302

On August 31, 2019, Sioux Falls Police responded to an armed robbery near the intersection of West 12th Street and South Marion Road.  The investigation found that an unknown suspect entered the business and pointed a handgun at the employee working.  The suspect demanded money from the employee and then fled from the scene.  The suspect is described as a Black male, 6’0”, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask, and black gloves.  A picture of the suspect’s vehicle is attached. Strong Arm Robbery 19-16857
August 29, 2019

On August 25, 2019, Sioux Falls Police responded to a strong arm robbery near the intersection of East 29th Street North and North Jessica Avenue.  The investigation found that two unknown suspects had met the victim at this location to purchase a cell phone. The two suspects forced the victim to the ground and stole his cell phone.  The two suspects then fled the scene.  The two suspects are described as young African American males, middle to high school aged.  One suspect was 6’0” and 145 lbs. and wearing a black and gold track suit.  The other suspect was 5’10” and 120 lbs. and wearing a red and black tracksuit.  SFPD CC#2019-16857.

On August 19, 2019, Sioux Falls Police responded to a larceny at a job site near West 32nd Street and South Ellis Road.  The investigation found that an unknown suspect had forced entry into a construction trailer and stole numerous tools.  The value of the stolen tools and the damage done to the trailer is approximately $5000.00.  SFPD CC#2019-16362.

August 15, 2019

Over the course of the last week the Sioux Falls Police Department responded to 50 separate reports of car windows being broken out.  From the investigation, it appears unknown suspect(s) selected random parked vehicles to vandalize by either shooting the windows with a BB gun or using a rock to break them.  The damage done to the vehicles is approximately $15,000.  SFPD CC# 2019-15474.

On July 21, 2019, Sioux Falls Police responded to a burglar alarm at a business near East 10th Street and South St. Paul Avenue.  Upon arriving, it was found that the glass door to the business had been broken out.  The investigation found that an unknown suspect had fired a pistol into the glass door, entered the business and took jewelry from a display case.  The value of damage and items taken was in excess of $1400.00.  The unknown suspect is described as a white male, medium build, wearing a ski mask, black jacket and khaki shorts.

July 18, 2019

On July 16, 2019, Sioux Falls Police responded to a storage unit facility near West 12th Street and South Valley View Road for a burglary.  The investigation found that an unknown suspect(s) had broken into multiple storage units at the facility.  Numerous construction tools were taken and the total loss is in excess of $1600.00.  SFPD CC#2019-13652.

Armed Robbery 19-13027
July 11, 2019

On July 9, 2019, Sioux Falls Police responded to a business near West Russell Street and North Louise Avenue for an armed robbery. The investigation found that an unknown suspect came into the business and approached an employee.  The suspect pointed a black handgun at the employee and demanded money.  The suspect then fled from the business with an undetermined amount of cash.  The suspect is described as a Black male, 25-35 years old, 5’10” and was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt.  The suspect was observed leaving the scene in a light colored sedan. On July 1, 2019, the Sioux Falls Police Department responded to a business near the area of West 41st Street and South Louise Avenue for a burglary.  The investigation showed that an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the business.  Once inside, the suspect(s) stole numerous pieces of jewelry, remote control cars, cell phone cases, and drones.  The value of the items stolen is approximately $5,000.  SFPD CC#19-12372.

June 27, 2019

On June 24, 2019, the Sioux Falls Police Department responded to a business near the area of West 60th Street North and North Westport Avenue for a larceny.  The investigation showed that an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into an enclosed trailer parked near the business.  Once inside, the suspect(s) stole copper fittings and a large amount of rigid copper tubing.  The value of the items stolen is approximately $2,500.  SFPD CC#19-11862.

On June 17, 2019, the Sioux Falls Police Department responded to a business near the area of West 12th Street and South Marion Road for an arson.  The investigation showed that an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into one of the buildings.  Once inside, the suspect(s) attempted to light some paper on fire on the floor.  The value of the damage done to the building is approximately $1,000.

Burglary 19-10936
June 13, 2019

On June 12, 2019, the Sioux Falls Police Department responded to Power Brokers Inc. at 2810 West Benson Road for a burglary.  The investigation showed that two unknown suspects drove a stolen vehicle into the front entrance doors of the business.  After driving through the doors, the two suspects entered the business and stole two motorcycles.  The stolen motorcycles are a black 2012 Honda CB1000RC and a red/silver 2008 Aprilia RV60.  The value of the damage done to the building and the two stolen motorcycles is approximately $20,000.  SFPD CC#19-10936.



Garage Burglaries 19-10060, 19-10129
June 06, 2019

On May 31, 2019, the Sioux Falls Police Department received two reports of residential garage burglaries near the area of E. 42nd Street and S. Alpine Avenue.  In both incidents, the victims had sets of golf clubs taken from their respective unsecured garages.  Video surveillance captured a white extended cab pickup in the area at the time of the burglaries.  The total loss for both incidents is $3300.

On May 25, 2019, Sioux Falls Police responded to the area of West 3rd Street and North Kiwanis Avenue for a burglary.  The investigation found that an unknown suspect had forced entry into a detached garage.  Once inside, the suspect stole numerous mechanic’s tools and equipment.  The damage done to the garage and the value of the stolen tools is approximately $100,000.  SFPD # CC#2019-9680.
