On January 8, 2019, Sioux Falls Police responded to a construction site near East Revere Drive and North Brennan Court for a theft.  The investigation found that an unknown suspect(s) had forced entry into a construction trailer in the area.  Once inside the trailer, the suspect(s) stole numerous tools causing a loss in excess of $9000.  SFPD CC#2019-000425.

On January 2, 2019, Sioux Falls Police responded to a business in the area of East 10th Street and South Sycamore Avenue for a burglary.  The investigation found that an unknown suspect(s) had forced entry into the business through a walk-in door.  Once inside the business, the suspect(s) stole an undermined amount of money from the cash register.  SFPD CC#2019-000077.

On December 25, 2018, Sioux Falls Police responded to an apartment building in the 4200 block of E. 12th Street for a weapons violation.  The investigation found that an unknown suspect(s) had fired shots at the building causing damage to several windows and a patio door.  There were no injuries to the occupants.  SFPD CC#18-41088

On November 15, 2018, Sioux Falls Police responded to the area of West 41st Street and South Duluth Avenue for a commercial burglary.  The investigation found that the suspect(s) had forced entry into the business and had taken numerous vehicle tires.  The value of the stolen items and the damage done to the structure is approximately $18,000.  SFPD # 18-38434.

November 29, 2018

On November 25, 2018, Sioux Falls Police responded to the area of W. 5th Street and N. Garfield Circle for a commercial burglary.  The investigation found that the suspect(s) had forced entry into the business and had taken 2 welders, a generator and numerous tools.  In addition to those items, a white 2000 Ford F-250 and a white 2013 GMC Sierra K3500 were also stolen from the business.  The total loss is estimated to be in excess of $50,000.

With the holiday season approaching there will be a large number of packages delivered to homes in Sioux Falls.  These packages are typically left on the front doorstep.  The Sioux Falls Police Department is asking people to follow these tips to protect you from being a victim. 
1.  Ask a neighbor to pick up your packages for you if you know you’re not going to be home.  2.  Have items delivered to your work.  3. If a retailer allows it, select a specific time for delivery when you will be home.

On November 5, 2018, Sioux Falls Police responded to the area of West 26th Street and South Phillips Avenue for a burglary.  The investigation showed the suspect(s) broke into a parked construction trailer.  Once inside, the suspect(s) stole numerous construction tools.  The value of the damage done to the trailer and the stolen tools is approximately $6,000.  SFPD # 18-37753.

On October 28, 2018, Sioux Falls Police responded to Falls Park for a vandalism.  The investigation showed the suspect(s) damaged several light pole globes, Christmas decorations, and Christmas light strands.  The value of the damage done is approximately $3,000.

On October 24, 2018, Sioux Falls Police responded to a storage unit complex near the 2100 block of South Ellis Road.  The investigation showed the suspect(s) broke into the victim’s storage unit.  Once inside, the suspect(s) stole numerous tools and household goods.  The value of the stolen items and the damage done to the structure is approximately $15,000.

On October 17, 2018, Sioux Falls Police responded to a commercial structure near the area of West 18th Street and South Sertoma Avenue.  The investigation showed the suspect(s) stole approximately 60 feet of copper wire.  The value of the stolen copper wire and the damage done to the structure is approximately $2,000.

October 11, 2018

On September 30, 2018, Sioux Falls Police responded to a business near West 41st Street and South Louise Avenue for a robbery.  The investigation showed the employee was closing for the night when three suspects entered the business.  The suspects started pushing and hitting the employee working. The suspects were able to get an undetermined amount of money and fled the store.  The suspects were described as 1-Black male, 5’10” with a slender build, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and a facemask. 2-Light skinned Black male, 5’10” with a slender build, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and a facemask. 3-Unknown race male, 6’1” with a slender build, wearing all black clothing and a facemask.   



Robbery 18-35223
October 04, 2018

On September 30, 2018, Sioux Falls Police responded to a business near West 41st Street and South Louise Avenue for a robbery.  The investigation showed the suspect walked into the business and demanded money from the employee working. The suspect indicated he had a gun in his pocket but none was ever displayed.  The employee opened the register and gave the suspect an undetermined amount of money.  After receiving the money, the suspect fled from the business.  The suspect was described as a White male, late 20’s to early 30’s, approximately 5’7 with a skinny build.

On September 25, 2018, Sioux Falls Police responded to a business near West Russell Street and North Kiwanis Avenue for a burglary.  The investigation showed the suspects had broken into several storage units by cutting off the locks.  Once inside, the suspects stole numerous pieces of fishing equipment.  The value of the items stolen and the damage done to the units is approximately $2500.  SFPD # 18-34896.

On September 20, 2018, Sioux Falls Police responded to a business near West 12th Street and South Marion Road for a burglary.  The investigation showed the suspects had broken the front window to gain access to the business.  Once inside the business, the suspects took a small free standing ATM and loaded it into their vehicle.  The value of the stolen ATM and the damage done to the building is approximately $9000.

On August 29, 2018, Sioux Falls Police responded to a business near West 60th Street North and West Marion Road for a larceny.  The investigation showed the suspects had broken into a trailer parked in the parking lot of the business.  Once inside the trailer the suspects stole a generator.  The value of the damage done to the trailer and the stolen generator is approximately $3,000.

August 23, 2018

On August 17, 2018, Sioux Falls Police responded to a business near East 10th Street and South Bahnson Avenue for a burglary.  The investigation showed the suspect broke a window to gain access to the business.  Once inside, the suspect stole money from a cash drawer and a safe in the office.  The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6’0 and 180 lbs.  The suspect has dreadlocks, a goatee, and was wearing all black clothing.  The value of the damage to the building and the stolen items is approximately $1500.  A picture of the suspect is attached.
